Victoria Pennock

Where is your hometown?

I am originally from Covina, California. I have lived in Austin since October 2008.

How do you spend your time outside of volunteering?

I enjoy writing, performing, and recording music. Also, I own Keep Austin Massaged LLC and perform chair and table massages all over Austin.

Any unusual hobbies, skills, or talents?

Nothing unusual, but I sew.

How long have you been volunteering with KAF and what made you want to get involved?

I have been volunteering since Randy Rosens told me about Keep Austin Fed in October 2008. I have helped since then because it just makes sense.

Do you have any memorable stories from food runs/drop-offs?

Each one is a gift.

What's your favorite thing about volunteering for KAF?

I love being on the SWAT team for last minute food runs.

Do you have any fun tips for how you personally reduce food waste in your own home?

Only cook what you will eat, look in the refrigerator before you go to the store or go out to eat. Incorporate leftovers into new dishes.

What would you like add so that others can get to know you better?

I am a busy gal, but I always make time to rescue food. I love accounting but hate to sit all day.
